Class 2 Recycled Base Rock

Class 2 Recycled Base Rock (also called Class II Recycled Base, Recycled Aggregate Base, or Recycled Road Base) is a well-graded, compactable material made from 100% recycled crushed concrete and asphalt. It meets Caltrans Class 2 specifications (Section 26) for aggregate base, typically with a mix of sizes from about 3/4" down to fines.

It offers excellent compaction, stability, and load-bearing capacity while being a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to virgin base rock.

Common uses include:

• Base layer under roads, driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, and pathways.
• Sub-base for building foundations, patios, slabs, and pavers.
• Trench backfill, utility installations, and general construction fill.
• Artificial turf and decomposed granite pathway bases.
• Roadway reconstruction, parking areas, and other projects needing strong, compactable support.

It is widely used in the Bay Area for sustainable construction projects and compacts very well when properly moistened.
